About Us

In the Summer of 2021, my daughter Grace and I were shopping in Hobby Lobby in our hometown of High Point.  We met a couple in the store who were accompanied by their Australian Labradoodle.  Not only was the dog beautiful, but he was calm and intelligent.  Grace and I learned that he had been trained as a therapy dog, but that the couple chose the Australian Labradoodle breed for that specific reason.  One of the owners is a cancer survivor.  We both listened to their story for over 30 minutes and were amazed at the life experiences this husband and wife had enjoyed with their Australian Labradoodle.  You could see the love and devotion they had for their dog and this breed.  Well, I was definitely smitten by the dog who sat in obedience as they talked, laughed and shared.  This human to dog/dog to human bond was real.  I saw it personally.  It was something I had never experienced from a dog.  I wanted to learn more.

So the journey began to learn more about this breed.  I had never heard of an Australian Labradoodle!  I had known people with doodle dogs.  What makes the Australian Labradoodle different?  The best source of information on this breed to me is the Australian Labradoodle Club of America website.  Everything is there from past to present history as well as colors, attributes, personalities and wonderful photos to melt your heart!  Plus you learn about the rigorous testing and insistence on the best bloodlines for purity preservation.    And no...Australian Shepherd is not in the breed at all.  The breed was originally developed in Australia.  That alone is the reason for the title.  A breed was sought that would aid allergy and asthma sufferers but so much more resulted.  I learned about the unique multigenerational breeding that created this breed.  The more I read about the breed, the more I was certain that we should add one to our family.  So we did!

Darling has far surpassed all of our hopes!  She embodies the intelligence, agility, animation, cheerfulness and companionship that I heard from the couple I met that day with their Australian Labradoodle.  She has made life happier and given us so much joy!   We did our homework, made the commitment and now have the fruit of that every day!  It is a good place to be!

In Spring 2022, I decided to approach Debbie King whom we bought Darling from about the possibility of breeding her.  Debbie was immediately thrilled!   As owner and manager of Kings Lane Labradoodles, she has experienced first hand for years the joy of breeding.   I have found Debbie to be such a kind and giving person.  It is no surprise that she has been a blessing throughout the years for so many families who now have her dogs.  Debbie represents the best in Australian Labradoodle breeding, and I am so thankful to be able to work with her.  So Kings Lane will supply the males for breeding and continue to set the example in care and professional attention to detail that is important for any breeder.

Darling has started us on a new journey as an ALCA recognized and registered breeder.  Here's to a great start with a great group of mentors looking on.  We have had a beautiful Spring litter of 7 gorgeous puppies from Darling.  And the best is yet to come!

Thank you for taking the time to enjoy my story.  You, too, will have a story.  It is bound to be a best seller if it includes an Australian Labradoodle.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Jansen
